A time to enjoy friends and family.

As event planners, holidays can be the one time we want to relax or the one time we get to show our creative flair to our friends and family.

With that being said, everyone knows that hosting for the holidays can become extremely stressful. There’s so many different pieces that have to come together to ensure a successful event.

Even if you’re not an event planner, here are a few tips you can do to save the stress when planning a holiday get together for family or friends.

1. Plan Ahead

When you fail to plan, you plan to fail. Writing out a plan for what needs to be done, while also being completely honest with how much you can handle is key. Between shopping, holiday parties and more, it can be easy to miss the smallest details when getting everything together to host. Asking your guests to bring certain items or help with party-related task will make your hosting experience go by much easier.

2. PLAN to HOST

Have something for your guests to do, have fun games, etc. List out topics you want to discuss with your family, make sure that you have everyone’s favorite drinks. You don’t get to see all of your family and friends at once often, so you want to make sure you spend quality time bonding together.

3. Plan The Menu!

Let’s face it, everyone wants to have GOOD food to eat during the holidays. Cooking ahead will definitely help you to save time. Start prepping the night before, so you’re not in a frenzy the day of. If you know you are not a cooker, there are many chefs that are offering catering services for the holidays.

4. RELAX!

The holidays are a time to spend with your family and enjoy their company. Don’t get so lost in event planning that you truly forget to enjoy the day when the time comes.
